The town of Wailea rests at the base of Haleakala along the south Maui Coast. Wailea means "water of Lea" in Hawaiian, Lea being the goddess of Hawaiian canoe makers. The image was reproduced in Steve Simon's coffee-table book entitled "The Spirit of South Maui." The printed canvas is mounted to hardboard and sealed with two coats of UV protective acrylic varnish. 8" x 10" is an open edition. All larger sizes are limited editions of 95 and hand signed and numbered by the artist.
