Hawaiian Ivory Makau IV

This very beautiful & classic makau made of ivory from legal pre-ban Elephant ivory that was acquired from "Ming's Jewelry" in Honolulu Chinatown at estate auction after it closed. This ivory is from stock that had been purchased before 1970. The distinct patina and schreger pattern is apparent on the hand polished surface of this single-barbed style hook. The Makau is 1-7/8"Long x 1-1/4"wide, it is lashed to a tan synthetic 3-ply Kaula/necklace. Order custom size in "Necklace size". Attention!
