Hawaiian Fethered Helmet - Mahiole

This is a traditional handmade Hawaiian feathered helmet (Mahiole). The helmet base is woven by hand with 'ie'ie (vine rootlets), the netting used over the helmet is 1/4" fine mesh (as done in Old Hawai'i), and the feathers are all hand tied to each knot of the netting to get the lush look of velvet (the look that finely and tightly woven feathers create). This mahiole does come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
