Description
Hawaiian folklore tells us of a mysterious people called Menehune, who inhabited the islands originally. According to legend, they lived in the forests and came out at night to work. They were said to be industrious, shy and mischievous in nature. This painting is not only about a beautiful bamboo forest, but like menehune, a vanishing people, culture, plants and creatures. At first glance, you will only see a forest. But, I invite you to walk into the painting, where a story will unfold.
