Michael Van Dorn

Michael Van Dorn moved to Hawaii from Southern California in 1968.   He taught public school on Oahu for many years, spending his summers and free time exploring these magnificent mountains, seas, and skies.   His experiences hiking, sailing, surfing, and hang gliding sharpened his eye to nature and inspired him to capture the beauty of Hawaii on canvas.   His artwork is usually based on real places, but often touched with a bit of whimsy and nostalgia for times gone by.
