This Kona Style Lauhala Hat is handmade using the maka ueno pattern with a band of puka puka (or Lover's Knot) on the crown. The hat has a 4-3/4" tall crown and 3-3/4" wide brim. The koe (strips) plaited are 1/8 inch wide. The lauhala was gathered and papale made in Honaunau, Kona on the Big Island. Fabric sweatband included for comfort. The red "haku" lei is crocheted by the weaver's mother.
