This is a custom carved boar's tusk with a Koa cap and Kakau(tattoo) design carving on the tusk. The symbols represent the Niho mano/shark teeth for protection & strength. Symbols of the kanaka koa/warrior. The tusk itself is 5-1/4" long on the curve and 4-1/2 tip to top. finished to a hand-rubbed polish. The black-colored kaula/cord is 18 inches in length. The back of the tusk has the Koa'e ula design for the traveler like this bird it voyages out to sea but returns home safely a true aumakua
