This very beautiful & unique makau made of ivory, is a hook made from legal pre-ban Elephant ivory that was accuired from "Ming's Jewelery in chinatown at auction after it closed. This ivory is all from stock that had been purchased before 1970. The distinct patina and schreger pattern is apparent on the hand polished surface of this double-barbed style hook.
