Providing for the family was an important aspect of the Hawaiian culture. This artwork titled "Welo Hanai" includes a cultural explanation in hawaiian and english languages. The custom frame and palau kohi (taro cutter) is handmade with koa wood. The cutter is placed before a velvet background and is left open for viewers to touch (and use).
